Our Fatherhood Program is designed to equip dads with the tools, knowledge, and attitudes they need to thrive in their role as fathers. By providing mentorship, education, and tangible incentives, this program builds stronger families and brighter futures. As part of our mission to support families, we also host the annual Golf “Fore” Fathers event, a fun-filled day that helps fund our vital parenting education programs.

The Fatherhood Program: A Path to Great Fathering

Empowering Fathers Through Care Net Fatherhood isn’t just about being present—it’s about being prepared, engaged, and committed. Our Fatherhood Program pairs male clients with dedicated male mentors who meet with them one-on-one or in small groups. Together, they develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to become great fathers.

The program is available in both English and Spanish, ensuring that cultural and linguistic barriers don’t stand in the way of fathers receiving the support they need.

Part 1: Fatherhood (Preborn to Nine Months)

Empowering Fathers Through Care Net Becoming a father starts long before a baby is born. This segment of the program focuses on preparing expectant fathers for the challenges and responsibilities of early parenthood. Through a combination of lessons from our Earn While You Learn curriculum and Being a Father program, dads-to-be gain critical insights into keeping their babies safe and healthy during the first nine months of life.

Key Topics Include:

Baby safety: Proper sleep positioning, car seat installation, and more.
Emotional support for moms: How fathers can be present and helpful during pregnancy.
Financial readiness: Budgeting for a new baby.

Incentives:
We believe in rewarding commitment and effort. Fathers who complete 10 lessons receive a brand-new car seat (valued at $59), ensuring their baby’s safety on the road. Those who go the extra mile and complete 20 lessons are gifted a new crib (valued at $120), creating a safe and comfortable sleeping environment for their little one.

Part 2: Being a Father (Ages Nine Months to 12 Years)

Empowering Fathers Through Care Net Fatherhood doesn’t stop after the first year—it evolves. The second phase of the program helps dads navigate the complexities of parenting as their children grow. These lessons are straightforward yet deeply impactful, helping fathers understand the tasks and responsibilities involved in raising children ages nine months to 12 years.

Golf “Fore” Fathers: Tee Off for a Cause

This beloved event is more than a day on the greens—it’s a celebration of fatherhood and a vital fundraiser for our parenting education programs.

What to Expect at Golf “Fore” Fathers

Registration is $150 per golfer and includes:

18 holes of golf: Enjoy a fun and challenging round at one of the area’s premier courses.
Cart rental: Cruise the course in comfort.
Meals and snacks: Fuel up with delicious lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the day.
Raffle and silent auction: Bid on incredible items donated by local businesses and supporters.
